About SIBAC
Purpose
The purposes of the Society are:
- The Society will be effective with all levels of government regarding the mountain pine beetle epidemic, the future of communities throughout the Southern Interior of British Columbia as it relates to a sustainable forest industry,
- The Society will manage, invest and expend monies allocated to it by the Government of Canada, the Government of British Columbia, any level of local government or aboriginal government and any private donor for the ongoing economic, environmental and social benefit of sustainable forestry in the Southern Interior region of British Columbia.
Governance
The Southern Interior Beetle Action Coalition (SIBAC) became a Registered Society May 16, 2008. Â As part of this process a Policy and Procedures manual was developed to guide coalition operations. Â Financial services for SIBAC are presently being handled by the City of Merritt. Â SIBAC gratefully acknowledges the invaluable assistance of the City of Merritt.
